About this site
AquaWiz.org is a static website that showcases the work of AquaWiz, a student team building autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs). The site exists to share information and has no user accounts, sign-ups, or payment features.
The AquaWiz team respects your privacy. This policy explains in plain language what information the site handles and how it is protected.
What we collect
Although this is largely a static site, we do collect personal information when you submit the contact form. Specifically, we collect your name, email address, the purpose (category) of your inquiry, and the content of your message. We use this information only to respond to your inquiry.
Outside of the contact form, we do not collect personal information such as your name, email, or address through forms. If basic analytics are in use, we only see anonymous, aggregate statistics such as page views, referrers, approximate region, and browser type, and we do not use these to identify you personally.
How we handle contact submissions
When you submit the contact form, the information you enter (your name, email address, inquiry purpose, and message) is transmitted via Cloudflare Pages Functions to a Discord channel used by the AquaWiz team, so that team members can read your message and reply. Discord is operated by Discord, Inc. in the United States, so this transmission involves a transfer of your personal data outside Japan (to the United States).
We use this information solely for the purpose of responding to your inquiry, and we do not sell it to any third party. Our legal basis for processing is your consent, which you provide by submitting the form. By submitting the form, you consent to the handling and the international transfer described above.
We keep your submission only as long as needed to respond to your inquiry, and handle it appropriately once it is no longer required. If you would like your information deleted, please reach out through the contact details listed on this page.
Cookies and local storage
The site may use your browser’s local storage to remember preferences such as your theme (dark / light mode) and display language. This information stays inside your own browser and is not sent to our servers.
You can clear local storage and cookies from your browser settings at any time. Doing so will not break the site, but your saved preferences will reset to their defaults.
External links
This site may link to external pages such as social media, news outlets, sponsors, or related services. We are not responsible for how those sites handle your information. Please review the privacy policy of each site you visit.
