Won the Hankyu Travel Award at JSEC 2025
Recognition for a system design and field-validation effort aimed at making continuous underwater profile observation affordable to deploy.
At JSEC 2025 — the Japan Science & Engineering Challenge for high school and technical college students — AquaWiz received the Hankyu Travel Award, given by a participating sponsor.
Triton, developed by AquaWiz, is built to make the data needed to track underwater environmental change both affordable and continuous to collect. It captures readings such as water temperature and pressure as depth profiles, and we designed it to be workable even at observation sites where high upfront cost typically gets in the way.
Beyond its novelty as a research project, the award recognized our ongoing design and validation work, carried out with real-world operation firmly in mind.
