Triton-3 Reaches 89 m in Lake Biwa Depth Trial

Depth trials at Lake Biwa took Triton-3 down to a maximum of 89 m, demonstrating pressure resistance and stable data acquisition at depth.

Triton-3 Reaches 89 m in Lake Biwa Depth Trial

As an operational test of Triton-3, we ran depth trials at Lake Biwa and successfully dove to a maximum of 89 m. The hull held up under high pressure, and we collected the planned sensor logs — water temperature, pressure, and so on — along with underwater video, exactly as intended.

Beyond confirming that depth-resolved data could be acquired reliably, the trial let us walk through the full operational flow from deployment through recovery. The field results also surfaced clear points to improve, both in handling and in stability.
