In depth testing at Lake Biwa, we successfully dove to a maximum depth of 89m, demonstrating pressure resistance and stable data acquisition at great depths.

Triton-3 Successfully Dived to 89m in Lake Biwa

As an operational test of Triton-3, we conducted depth testing at Lake Biwa and successfully dove to a maximum depth of 89m. The hull maintained pressure resistance even under high-pressure environments, and we were able to acquire sensor logs such as temperature and pressure, as well as underwater video, as planned.

In this test, in addition to the stability of data acquisition to capture environmental changes by depth, we also verified the operational flow including recovery. Based on the results in the field, improvement points regarding operability and stability have also become clear.
